Audition Requirements

Applicants should plan on singing at least 2 contrasting selections: one should be in Italian, and in most circumstances, one should be an aria. An accompanist is provided free of charge, but you may bring your own. If you have not previously submitted your application materials ( 2 letters of recommendation, an 8X10 photo, your resume, the completed application form, and the $50 application fee), please make sure you bring them with you to your audition.

 If you cannot audition in person you may apply by DVD or Videocassette. CDs and Audio Tapes, which have a minimal amount of high-tech editing, will also be considered. When submitting your application by mail, make sure to include 2 letters of recommendation,  an 8X10 photo, your resume, the completed application form, and the $50 application fee.

Coach/Accompanist Fellowship

Five positions available. Fellowships provide full-tuition, housing, language classes and the opportunity to work with world-renowned opera professionals

Fees

Videocassettes  and DVDs are accepted in lieu of live audition with two letters of recommendation, application form, and $50  application fee. The cost of IIVA’s 2010 summer program  is $3500 US.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

Upon acceptance a non-refundable fee of $75.00 is payable in order to secure your place. Admission  is limited to a maximum of 50 students. The fee must accompany the completed registration form. You must register by March 15, 2010 The total tuition for the  2010 Summer Session is $3,500.00*, which includes housing. IIVA can also arrange special hotel accommodations for students, at an extra cost.

 * A down payment of $1200.00 must be paid by April 1st; the remainder of this is due by May 1^st.

Occasionally circumstances necessitate a student to withdraw after registration.
Tuition is fully refundable up to one month  before the program begins. Last minute cancellations will be refunded 50% of the tuition, or a full tuition may be applied to future IIVA study minus a $500.00 cancellation fee.

Tuition is not refundable after arrival in Switzerland.
