Audition Requirements

Applicants should plan on singing at least 3 contrasting selections: one should be in Italian, and in most circumstances, one should be an aria. An accompanist is provided free of charge, but you may bring your own. If you have not previously submitted your application materials ( 2 letters of recommendation, an 8X10 photo, your resume, the completed application form, and the $50 application fee), please make sure you bring them with you to your audition.

 If you cannot audition in person you may apply by DVD or Videocassette. CDs  which have a minimal amount of high-tech editing, will also be accepted. When submitting your application by mail, make sure to include 2 letters of recommendation,  an 8X10 photo, your resume, the completed application form, and the $50 application fee.

Coach/Accompanist Fellowship

One positions available. Fellowships provide full-tuition and the opportunity to work with world-renowned opera professionals.

Fees

CDs  and DVDs are accepted in lieu of live audition with two letters of recommendation, application form, and $50  application fee. The cost of IIVA’s 2011 summer program  is $1850 US. The application fee is applied towards tuition.  Housing is included in the tuition.

 

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

Upon acceptance, students must register by May 1st; a down payment of $500.00 must be included with the registration form.       The remaining tuition  is due by May 20th.  Admission  is limited to a maximum of 40 students. 

  

Occasionally circumstances necessitate a student to withdraw after registration.
Last minute cancellations will be refunded 50% of the tuition, or a full tuition may be applied to future IIVA study minus a $500.00 cancellation fee.  Tuition is not refundable after arrival in San Juan.
